Common mistakes
Camera bodies are imperial worldwide (1/4-20), but the accessory holes drilled into cages are usually metric M4. Do not force an M6 into a 1/4-20 hole — they are close but not compatible.
1/4-20 to 3/8-16 bushings let one plate serve both.
